I’m a singer, songwriter and music producer from the West Midlands, England who loves all music and is heavily influenced by Electronic Dance and 80s Synth Pop! I’ve collected over 40 years of different genres of dance music including Disco, Electro, Break Dance, Chicago House, Acid, Techno, Trance and more recent EDM. 80’s Synth Pop influences include The Human League, Soft Cell, Depeche Mode, New Order and many others; I could go on forever! I am also a fitness fanatic and love playing and watching sport.
I’ve kept many years of ideas on scribbled scraps of paper as well as whistling tunes into devices after waking up in the middle of the night. After acquiring a keyboard, microphone and Apple Mac I decided to create a home studio and create music. I also love to remix my favourite songs.
My first song I Want You (My Perfect Jewel) is from the album It’s North Not South! and was written on 26th January 2019. The essence of the song is about someone going through life not being able to give or receive love and keeps repeating the same pattern of emotionally attaching themselves to people in search of it. They either reject the relationship or get rejected themselves and move on to the next. They have to find love within themselves first and the rest will follow! The song has been compared to New Order and Daft Punk, which I’m happy with! Many other songs followed, which are on social media, streaming and download sites. I also upload to the BBC Introducing website.
I completed and published my second single on 21st February 2019 called I Wanna Be Like You. This song started out as a tribute to a work colleague who doesn’t have a care in the world and thinks pure love is ‘burger day’ at their place of work. The song ended up another song about rejection! The Human League, OMD, New Order, Ultravox and Squeeze have been mentioned as influences when discussing this song.
The third single was released on YouTube (7th March 2019) called Mother’s Love, which is about children not getting the love they need from their parents and spending the rest of their lives searching for it. Probably a prequel to the first two songs.
The fourth song was released on the 21st March 2019 and is called Healing, which is a relaxed Ibiza chill out song. There are not many words to this, but as the title suggests it is about Healing and getting over all the rubbish of the past. It’s time to move on!
Song number five was released on the 29th March 2019 called Date Night about a couple going on a date, but one of the couple is desperate for love.
Song number six was released on the 4th April 2019 and is called You’ll be my lover. This one is about there not being much love in the world and most people are just lusting after each other. It has been said that it sounds like early Human League and Ultravox; also Right Said Fred!
The seventh single was written and made on the 6th April 2019 called Remember Me, which is reminiscing about a relationship and the ups and downs that ensued along the way.
Song number 8 was written and produced on the 30th April called Moving on. This is about a couple moving forward in their relationship, employment and residence after enduring a rough time in their relationship.
Shortly afterwards the ninth song was produced on the 4th May2019 called Younger Years. This is a Dance/Techno song, which reminded me of my younger days when he travelled and worked around the world including the bars and clubs in Greece and Cyprus!
The Tenth song was released on the 31st May 2019 called A New Dawn. Another Dance/instrumental that represents my big passion for dance music. Inspired by Avicci’s early sound.
On the 9th June 2019 I’m Sorry was uploaded to You tube. As the titles suggests, the song is about saying sorry for frequently pushing their partner away when they get too close and love starts coming into play. As mentioned in previous songs, they can’t love or be loved and sabotage the relationship when things go well. This song is a more mainstream ballad with synthesized guitars and drums.
June 2019; Eastern Promise is a dance instrumental that has the same melody as his first single (Perfect Jewel) but with an oriental twist. It is a meeting of east & west music inspired by my travelling around Asia in my younger years.
